broker routes

Where your alerts actually land.

Coverage is per route, not per logo. Tradovate / NinjaTrader accounts are live. Rithmic is built and ready for its first live account. ProjectX is not switched on yet. Paper is built in. This page says which is which, and what each one can and cannot do.

one alert · every account you paired

Shifu forwards what your alert says, to the accounts you paired. It does not decide, manage or protect a trade — your strategy does that, on your chart.

Tradovate

Live

The fullest route, and the one carrying real orders today. Everything Shifu can do, it does here.

Signing in · You approve Shifu on Tradovate's own site — your Tradovate password is never typed into Shifu. Pick Simulated or Live; most prop-firm accounts, funded ones included, run on Simulated.

  • Market, limit, stop and stop-limit entries
  • A take-profit and stop bracket resting at the broker, one cancelling the other
  • A native trailing stop leg — your opening risk still sits exactly where your stop said
  • An arm-after trail trigger, so the stop starts following only once price has moved your way — Tradovate’s own server-side autoTrail
  • A new entry replaces the old position: the working legs on that contract are cancelled and the position is flattened before the new entry goes in
  • Balance and open positions read back into Shifu
  • A position Shifu opened that you closed by hand is still journaled
  • reverse alerts are refused rather than half-executed — send an exit then an entry, or send the opposite entry and let the replace-the-position behavior do the flip
  • The arm-after trigger needs the alert to carry both trail_distance and trail_trigger; if Tradovate refuses the trailing strategy, Shifu falls back to a trail-from-entry rather than dropping the entry

Rithmic

Ready

Built and conformance-passed, waiting on its first live account. The connection Shifu holds open and re-establishes itself.

Signing in · Your Rithmic username, the system name your firm gave you — “Rithmic 01”, for example — and your account number, each spelled exactly as your firm shows it, spaces and capitals included.

  • Market, limit, stop and stop-limit entries
  • A native bracket resting at the broker
  • A trailing stop with the same arm-after trigger, following last trade rather than bid/ask for chart parity
  • Fills, rejections and cancels arrive on a held-open connection, so the record keeps up with the account
  • No live account has routed over Rithmic yet — everything above is the shipped adapter, verified in conformance rather than in production
  • A new entry does not flatten a prior position — send an explicit exit alert first if you need to be flat
  • reverse alerts are refused rather than half-executed
  • Balance and open positions are not read back into Shifu yet — you watch them in your trading platform

NinjaTrader

Via Tradovate or Rithmic

Both a platform and a brokerage — so what matters is which rail your account reaches us on. Both carry it.

Signing in · Shifu asks one question — how do you sign in? — and connects to whoever actually holds your orders. Full walk-through below.

  • An account with NinjaTrader’s own brokerage gets the Tradovate route, in full — same firm, same login, and that rail is carrying real orders today
  • An NT desktop sitting on a prop-firm account gets the Rithmic route — built and conformance-passed, waiting on its first live account
  • Nothing to install on the NinjaTrader desktop: Shifu talks to the broker, and your platform shows the result
  • There is no third “NinjaTrader” mode with its own behavior — the rail your account reaches us on decides what the route can do
Why we recommend NinjaTrader

Paper

Built in

The rehearsal route. No broker login, nothing real at stake, included in the plan.

Signing in · Nothing to sign in to. Name the account, set the size you want to rehearse, done.

  • Every order type, resting brackets and trailing stops — all simulated from your own alerts
  • Fills price around the alert's own price when it carries one, with a half-tick of slippage on market orders
  • When a take-profit and a stop could both have filled on the same observed price, the stop wins — so paper never flatters you
  • The whole loop end to end before a live account is ever involved
  • The numbers are Shifu’s simulation, not a market feed — treat them as a rehearsal, not a backtest

ProjectX

Coming

The platform behind Apex, TopstepX, MyFundedFutures and Bulenox. Not built yet.

Signing in · Not yet — the ProjectX route is not switched on.

  • No orders route to ProjectX today: the adapter is a skeleton and the connect card is disabled, rather than letting you wire an account that cannot trade
  • Apex and MyFundedFutures accounts commonly sign in over Rithmic instead — check how you sign in
  • Firms that only sign in over ProjectX — TopstepX and Bulenox — are not supported today.
the one question

“How do you sign in to NinjaTrader?”

NinjaTrader is both a platform and a brokerage — NinjaTrader Clearing, LLC is a registered FCM that also trades as Tradovate. So Shifu connects over whichever rail actually holds your account. Most NT traders don't know which that is, and a blurb can't tell them. So the connect dialog asks about something they can actually see: the login screen in front of them.

You answer

A Tradovate username and password

Shifu connects

NinjaTrader’s own brokerage

You get the Tradovate route: native brackets, a trailing stop with an arm-after trigger, and a new entry replacing the old position.

You answer

A system name your firm gave you, like “Rithmic 01”

Shifu connects

A prop-firm account

You get the Rithmic route: native brackets and a trailing stop with the same arm-after trigger.

Not sure which your prop firm uses? It depends on which rail the firm puts you on, not on a Shifu setting — many Apex, MyFundedFutures and Tradeify accounts connect over Rithmic. The question sorts it out at connect time either way. Setup guide.

side by side

The differences are small. They are real.

The same grid your docs show, so what you read before you buy is what you read after. NinjaTrader isn't a column — it's whichever column your account reaches us on.

Every verdict in this grid is the behavior in the shipped routing code — what the adapter does when an order reaches it, not a roadmap and not a track record. Tradovate / NinjaTrader accounts are live today — real orders route over that rail. Rithmic is built and conformance-passed, and ready for its first live account — no live order has routed over it yet. ProjectX is not switched on — nothing routes there, and the connect card says so instead of letting you wire an account that cannot trade. A Yes in a column that is not live yet means the code is there and conformance-tested, not that orders have run through it in production. And on Rithmic, balance and open positions are not read back into Shifu — you watch those in your trading platform.

Rehearse on paper first. It costs nothing and proves everything.

Paper is included, needs no broker login, and runs the same path your live orders will. Connect a real account when the loop looks the way you expect.
